I’ve tweeted about this, I’ve faeebooked, and some of you are probably tired of it… But I feel like one final time I need to share and talk about Nate Henn, his work with Invisible Children, and his tragic death in the Ugandan bombing.
I never met Nate. I talked on the phone with him a few times as we booked the IC tours in Savannah. I emailed him a few times and we talked on Facebook a few times as I got the dates set for the events.
Below are links to 2 videos on CNN that I feel like you all should watch. One is 2 former child soldiers who Nate had befriended and been mentoring talking about what it was like being there when the bomb went off. The other is Jason, one of the founders of Invisible Children, sharing his thoughts on Nate and how the IC community is reacting.
Hearing Nates story, seeing how selflessly he served the Ugandan people (both while he was volunteering with IC in America and while he was over in Uganda), and seeing the Invisible Children family/community mourn his loss and rally together to get through this tough time inspires me to continue to fight for what’s right which is what Nate was all about.
